Does your state have a program to accelerate sustainability in its municipalities?

Since 2001 the 13 participating sustainability certification or recognition programs have established frameworks for supporting local change by providing guidance, standards, technical resources, recognition and often funding support to assist local governments. Each state sustainability program has a unique origin story and course of development. The programs achieve broad collective impact by forging partnerships among key public entities including state agencies, state leagues of municipalities, environmental organizations, universities, foundations and the private sector.
